Robert Sable Mysteries profile fictional Alaskan Trooper
Alaska author
Sean E. Thomas has created a new hero for lovers of crime and mystery novels
set in the Last Frontier. Mystery buffs can find suspense and mayhem
in Sean’s first three novels: Dark Project,
Dark Soul and Dark Gold.
Now, in his recently released novel, Dark Shaman,
Thomas sends his hero, Robert Sable, an Alaska State Trooper, forth to solve
the mystery of children missing in the Alaskan bush. Thomas pits Sable
against a force so evil that Sable may not escape with his life. Most
Alaskans have heard the rumors of a powerful ancient shaman. “Dark
Shaman” turns that legend into a fast-paced murder mystery in which Sable,
with help from the FBI, investigates the ritual slayings of school children.
Rumors hint to an absurd idea that the children have been slaughtered by
Auktelchnīk, a powerful evil shaman who has been somehow resurrected.
As more bodies turn up, Sable and his partners try to find the connections
between the victims and their killer by interrogating local rapists, pedophiles
and sexual deviants. As they do so, someone begins killing off the
suspects one by one. Is this a new killer, an irate parent, or someone
else? Along the way, Sable encounters romance, a barroom brawl and
a bevy of nasty characters who could only be found in Alaska.
